227. To Fast or Not To Fast (with Thyroid, Hormone and Insulin Issues)
Is a 16 or 18 hour fast good for you to do…especially if you have thyroid, hormone or insulin issues? Let me break this down for you…the how to, the benefits and the why. I will also answer the question…is coffee in the morning breaking my fast? The whole purpose of fasting is really to get your body into a declutter state…like a spring cleaning state. When this occurs after a 15-16 hour fast, the process that can occur is called autophagy…the body’s way of cleaning out damaged cells, in order to regenerate newer, healthier cells….and who doesn’t want this benefit?
